InProcess celebrates Odile Perceau

  WHO ARE WE?
 Vocation

InProcess carries out innovation projects by working on how objects are used. Originally from the culture of industrial design, InProcess has developed a specific method, based on the understanding of how users behave. This insight is used to optimize and innovate, for products and services.
This constant observation provides the “breeding ground of creation”. Each shortcoming detected in the user process becomes an opportunity for innovation. After representing a new way of using an object or accessing a service (by using a “life scenario”), the firm makes a prototype of each one of these innovations to assess in vivo their acceptance by the end user.
InProcess provides this service in all markets of our environment such as home, transportation, banking, leisure activities, food, health... thereby contributing to the improvement of everyday life.

 Organization

InProcess was created by Christophe Rebours and is structured around the following model: Observation & Creation.
A two-sided model that brings together experts in human sciences and experts in design.

 Activities and resources

Platform of observation of user behaviours:

- Sociology, Ergonomics, Ethnology
- Marketing of services
- Scripting of products / services concepts
- Industrial design
- Prototyping
- Engineering

  HIGHLIGHTS

April 25th and 26th, 2012: InProcess celebrates Odile Perceau and supports the Quatuor de Bordeaux tour in China :

Playing music is the art of listening to each other’s notes and intentions, and building together a new emotion.

Innovation is the science of observing people’s life, and building together a new future.

Innovation and music both open up new horizons.

InProcess is therefore very proud to support Odile Perceau and the talented Quatuor de Bordeaux contemporary chamber music works. As part of their international tour, in April 2012 they are in concert in the Forbidden City of Beijing, in the Qintai Concert Hall of Wuhan and the Academy for Performing Arts Amphitheatre in Hong Kong. They present two contemporary chamber music works created by Odile Perceau: Garonne, a symphonic string quartet composed in 2007, and Partitas Romanes, 7 pieces for violin and cello transcribed for viola and cello in 2011.

Musicians play on an original scenic stage with ultra-modern lighting to welcome the soloists: musicians are seated on light boxes that change color depending on the music!

Concert dates are available on khloros.org

Carrefour reinvents the trolley of supermarket in collaboration with InProcess :

Carrefour and InProcess launched MOBI today, the trolley of the future. More open, more flexible, more manageable, more environmentally friendly, it gives way to the bags and becomes the trolley of all grocery shopping.
In a rapidly changing urban landscape, while family structures, lifestyles and mobility have changed dramatically since the 60s, the advent of the Internet and specialty stores have created new trade actors, the hypermarket began its reinvention. The trolley, one of his strong symbols, however, remained the same for 50 years. Its mesh tray was the same for all customers, all volumes of all grocery shoppings and areas of stores. It was time it is thoroughly redesigned to reflect changes in our lifestyles and facilitate the ritual of shopping.

The trolley becomes a flexible and scalable base for reusable bags
The new trolley Carrefour gives up with the tote container that does not have the ability to adapt to the user or its various races. It turns into a flexible and scalable base for grocery shopping: it's all built around the recyclable bag!

This is because before thinking about the design, we first observed the behavior in stores, that MOBI will be established in uses.
As often with the simple things, the new Carrefour trolley is the result of a process of creating original and iterative. Before working on the trolley, InProcess examined the practice of grocery shopping. The ethnologists observed scientifically behavior from the car park to the car park and some delicate crossings (fish, crates ...) of various profiles: individuals, along with young children or teenagers, couples, retirees, young people ... They analyzed the rationalization of time constraints and factors of pleasure from the experience of shopping. It is these observations that revealed the nature and forms of the already widespread use of the bag.

Karotz Designer Diary #3 :

The third episode of the Karotz's Designer Diary Karotz explores the design of the behavior of the rabbit. Related to physical attributes (see Episode #2), it is as much determined by the technical ingredients of expression and tone of the rabbit. The Karotz's webcam has for instance allowed InProcess's designers to script multiple life experiences, transmitted to Mindscape as a specification book. The tone of the rabbit, induced by its voice, its vocabulary has been in the same way copiously scripted. Many key ingredients that make up the design of an experiment.

Karotz Designer Diary #2 :

In this second episod of the saga of the rabbit, Christophe Rebours presents the thinking and research on the light that gave birth to the DAL lamp. He talks about the expressive power of this light, the rhythm and color variations make it a powerful vehicle for expression. It then presents Nabaztag, Nabaztag: tag and Karotz. Poetry of the colored light is one of three key physical attributes of the expressiveness of the rabbit, the second is surely the efficient movement of ears and the third is the sound - that Christophe will discuss soon! Stay tuned!

Karotz Designer Diary #1 :

"Design is one of the essential elements of the rabbit's success" Christophe Rebours.

Christophe Rebours, designer of the rabbits and co-founder of Violet, tells the incredible saga of the rabbit, from the Nabaztag birth to maturity in Karotz, through "Designer Diaries." In this chapter # 1, Christophe Rebours explains how was born this first emotional messenger, now worship. He draws our eyes rabbits, shares his inspiration, demonstrates the importance of design to stimulate the emotions, and explains why he campaigned as a designer to create and give a strong identity to this object so that seduces users and install it permanently in our lives.

InProcess announces the design of a new Nabaztag, rechristened Karotz, for Mindscape :

InProcess designers remained faithful to their original plans to design a new version of their famous communicating rabbit and its swivel ears. Announced for March 2011, Karotz gives life to a new generation of the messenger of emotion and information. Karotz is a smart and sweet communication channel to keep in touch daily with the community of our loved ones. It is permanently connected to the Internet and it transforms the traditional new technologies communication by adding emotion, warmth and sensitivity… a true personality.
Mindscape will officially unveil Karotz during the CES show in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2011.
Mindscape offers to follow Karotz’s development on blog.karotz.com and already allows pre-orders on the official website www.karotz.com

POM, the first charger fit to be seen :

For UNIROSS, InProcess imagined a charger able to install the gesture of recharging in the daily life of the users. POM is the new product belonging to the category of the small equipments of domestic energy; it facilitates the recharging of batteries but also nomad devices, thanks to the integrated USB port, and becomes a object which is fit to be seen and which takes a particular place at home or at the office.

POM has already obtained an "Etoile de l'Observeur du Design 09", has been selected for the International Biennial of Saint Etienne, won the SuperDesign 2010 Prize and was awarded with the "Special favourite sustainable development" SuperDesign Prize.

iDNiGHT, a new experience for night trains :

Thanks to the intervention of InProcess, the subsidiary of the SNCF (French National Railway Company) is able to provide a more innovative service which is adapted to the specific desires of the travellers for night train journeys in TGV between Paris and the South of France.
Indeed, InProcess imagined a train composed of
spaces with various ambiances: around the bar,
DVDs and concerts would animate the space iDzinc,
whereas iDlounge would bring you serenity and
entertainment thanks to music, games… For those
who only want to take a rest, they could make it in the rest of the train.
InProcess creates a new approach to the experience
of night trains, by proposing spaces of nuances where each passenger would find the activity adapted to his or her specific biorhythm and thus becomes the actor of his or her trip.

Musinaut, the futuristic headphone :

InProcess put in concrete form the amazing
invention of the start’up Musinaut, by conceiving a
headphone able to adapt the music to the emotions
of the listener. This is possible thanks to the three
sensors set out behind the ear and on the forehead.
Proposed yet as a prototype which shows the
technology works, the concept of this ergonomic
headphone has been presented for a private view at
the MIDEM (Cannes, France).
It also won the silver trophy during the Trophées
Marketing Magazine 2008, in the category ‘’Design of
product’’.

Innovative mascara :

Organised by the APCI, the "Observeur du Design" highlights and rewards each year a selection of the best creations of the collaboration between companies and designers. This year, InProcess won the "Etoile de l'Observeur du Design 2007" with the Mascara Brush - High Perm Curling Mascara LaNeige - AmorePacific.

Impedimenta :
